Walt Disney World Resort

Walt Disney World Resort was a dream of Walt Disney’s after the success of Disneyland.  Walt wanted not only an east coast Disneyland, but he wanted to own the land around it so he could what was built near the resort.  Walt used shell companies and agents to secretly purchase land in central Florida for his new project, and by time it was revealed that Disney was buying land in Florida, the company already owned more than 43 square miles of land.  Walt would not live to see his Florida dreams, but the Walt Disney Company would build one of the most popular family vacation destinations in the world.
